About me

Welcome to my online magazine: It's All About Me.
While the concept was mine, the name itself is borne of mischievous colleagues with an understanding of my ego-centricity.
Enough about them, more about me!
Native of the Island of Mauritius, and bred in the sand-belt suburbs of inner Melbourne, I received my early education at Christian Brothers' College-St Kilda. It was within those hallowed walls that I learnt the value of having an opinion, and more importantly, the courage to express it. Being a minority in the 70s wasn't such a picnic, although I did thrive on the challenge.
Much of my adult life has been spent negotiating the thrust and parry of the news and information media. And that experience has given me a good understanding of what motivates individuals but a greater appreciation for the choices that we all have in shaping our own lives.
The two most influential people in shaping my view of the world, outside of the love of my family, have been Richard Pryor and Bob Marley. To this day, Marley's Redemption Song remains an anthem. And I've never laughed so much as when listening to the comedic genius of Richard Pryor.
Perhaps my greatest motivation for starting this magazine was to have the opportunity to express an opinion. Not in a negative, 'kick 'em in the head' format, although that method does have its benefits, but rather to generate interest and feedback from people who are willing to express their own views.
For all our differences, humans are pretty much the same. I might be wrong, but I think it's more important to allow those their differences, rather than expect conformity. Nothing worthwhile has ever been achieved through conformity.
